About the ProjectThis website presents information gathered and analyzed by graduate students in Wake Forest University’s Department of Education. In an effort to better understand the needs of educators in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, eleven graduate students and two faculty advisers spent a month exploring longitudinal trends from fully-funded projects on the crowdfunding site DonorsChoose.org. We examined projects in the categories of books, supplies, and technology, and we later produced this portfolio of case studies based on overarching themes from data analysis.
We hope this extended inquiry project will benefit stakeholders across Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, including teachers hoping to create their own projects on DonorsChoose.org. From potential donors to classroom teachers to district administrators, we believe this analysis can provide useful insights into the types of resources available to classroom teachers and how meeting their needs can help to improve outcomes for K-12 students. |
